Trees are plants found through The Dead Linger world and are the primary source of logs. Players are able to chop down trees for logs which can be used in crafting and campfires. The Dead Linger uses the software SpeedTree for the game's vegetation.

Players can right click on any tree with a type of axe to chop down a tree. The length of time it takes to chop down a tree depends on the size of the tree, but larger trees provide more logs. Hatchets cut trees at a normal rate while the fire axe cuts trees down slightly faster. The sound of chopping can attract zombies.

Types of trees include aspen, oak, pine and tall pine.
